LIFE is so complex, so diverse ... It takes a while to see and view life as it should be, as it must be, and as it is ... But of course, oftentimes we define life as we perceive it to be or as we presently live it... depending on the situation we are in... Everyone has their own vision of life, and each of us handles problems, people and situations in our individual way. I believe there is a grand design to life, and as incomprehensible as that design might be, its meaning would be made clear to us all one day...
Before I start, let me tell you that I am just here to share my insights of how I personally view life in a general sense as well as based on my own experiences so far. Though, my experiences are not that much to brag about but it is enough for me to more or less understand life as I am living it today.
Well, we all know that life ran smoother when everything was where it was meant to be. All that's left to do is smile, right? I should say, that we just have to cherish each hour of this day for it can never return. During times like this I can't help but wish that I have the power to keep time from moving on. However, we should also accept that life's greatest truth is that, it is tainted with inconsistencies. It's pretty unpredictable, so uncertain. As the song says "life is a constant change". One never knows what's in store. People's lives can change in the flicker of an eyelash; no one knows what's going to happen. It's because of this that I have this so called philosophy in life, that is, what has to happen will happen. Nothing can stop it. What will be, will be. We can't mold life to our will, or make it bend whichever way we want. That's not the way it is. Life gets at us all in one way or another. This is why life is perceived to be hard. To some it's never been easy. In fact, nobody said life would be easy. Nevertheless, we have to take risks and plunge on. For life is measured by the risks we take. After all, maybe you'll all agree that life without an element of danger is hardly worth living. Who knows that maybe sometimes the things in life that take us most by surprise turn out to be the biggest blessings? And if that is so we can therefore say that it's worth it. I personally believed that the best thing in life comes in the most unexpected time. A number of the greater events in life are invisible, so to speak; that's why you shut your eyes when you kiss, weep or fantasize. . . ha-ha!
Seriously, let's accept the fact that, while we are busy making plans, life happens, and we just have to face it and choose our path. In life, everyone has a path to follow. Though it is always full of "if onlys", "buts" and "maybes", but who says that it could never be as we dreamed it could be? Yes, life has never been fair, but there are some things we can try to make better. Life is too short to absorb negative thoughts or to wake up with regrets. Don't live your life dwelling on regrets. Let's not waste it folks. Let's love the people who treat us right and forget about the ones who don't. Let's spend some time with those we genuinely cares about. Let us not deprive ourselves of the few things which might give us a bit of pleasure in this tough world. For life maybe short but one can always make the most of it. Let us all bear in mind that life is what we carve out for ourselves. It is full of memories we make. Memories which may be happy, painful or both.
Sometimes, life mangles us, brings us down, and causes us so much pain. Just when you think that it can't get any worse, it does. But let's always remember that no matter how hard life is, the important thing is how you handle it and all its hardships and pain. The vital thing is that we've got to deal with life's trouble standing up, fists rose, fighting hard. Because it's essential to struggle through and came out triumphant. What really counts in the end is how we cope with life, react to our hardships and suffering, and overcome them.
Through the years, there are few lessons that I have learned. One of which is that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and I just have to hope that it will be better tomorrow. Just because yesterday is a terrible day, doesn't mean today won't be the best day of my life. What is done is done. But even though you can never undo yesterday, there is always tomorrow to redeem. Similarly, no matter how perfect the day is, or how good the night is, it always has to end. So, I am welcoming each day with willingness to embrace whatever life may offer. This way teaches me to accept the unacceptable. One step at a time - that's the only way I can live my life, get through each day without losing my sanity... ha-ha!
Moving on, I have also learned that the value of life can be measured not in the span of days you live, but in the way you make use of your days while you live. For one may live long, yet get not a lot from life. The way you spend each day adds up to the way you spend your life. Whether you find satisfaction in life depends not on the number of years you live, but on your willingness to live and move forward no matter what and how. It's time that we all stop living in the painful past, and try to make the best of what life will deal out for us in the future. As I have said, we are each the authors of our own lives. We live in what we have created. Everyone should do what they could in life and hope for the best. There is no way to shift the blame if something goes wrong and likewise no one else to accept the praises if it turns out good, but you and only you. After all you are living your life for you and not for anybody else. Hence, each one of us is responsible for our own life; we write our own scripts and then live them out to the bitter or sweet end, whichever it may be.
Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. We've got to grasp today, live it hard, and take life with both hands. Live it to the fullest, as one might say, because before you know it, years will slip away, and you'll be middle-age, and then old and it will be too late. Far, far too late... Soon today will form part of yesterday.
Let us always remember that it is not fortune but being contented in life that ultimately gives happiness to a person. In spite of this, being contented doesn't mean that we have to stop striving to achieve our goals in life. Nothing you do in life is a waste, so long as you learn something from it. It is best said in this quote, "In school we are taught a lesson, then given a test but in life we are given a test, and then taught a lesson." We should all recognize that it's our decision and not our situation that ultimately shapes our future. We have a right to decide our own destiny. Even so, let us all hold on and believe to the thought that everything happens for a reason.
